What ALKETA is
The product contains an alkaline compound: sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃). It is intended for consumption to supplement alkaline compounds in the body. One capsule contains 1200 mg of sodium bicarbonate, and each bottle holds 120 capsules.

Why an acid-resistant capsule
Sodium bicarbonate reacts with acids, producing sodium chloride, water and carbon dioxide.
ALKETA uses a BioVXR® Acid Resistant HPMC capsule (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose with pectin). According to the manufacturer’s documentation, the capsule has increased resistance to acidic environments and delays the release of its contents.
This is a technological feature of the product form: the capsule limits contact between its contents and an acidic environment before it opens.
