Technology
An acid-resistant capsule
Sodium bicarbonate reacts with acids, forming sodium chloride, water and carbon dioxide. ALKETA uses a hard BioVXR® Acid Resistant HPMC capsule. The manufacturer’s functional specification covers increased resistance to acidic environments and delayed release of the contents. This is a technological feature of the product form, described in the capsule manufacturer’s documentation.
Raw material quality
The sodium bicarbonate in ALKETA is EMPROVE® ESSENTIAL raw material of pharmacopoeial grade. Specifications and certificates of analysis (CoA) for the raw material, capsule and excipient are available on request.
